Tried this with little bro and nephew last night from a friend's recommendation. I think it's pretty good for that it's a big buffet. There are LOTs of seafood choices like crab legs, crabs, lobster (very little chopped up), sashimi to choose from. I had the salmon sashimi and it was pretty good (fresh tasting). The hamachi didn't look that well, so I didn't even try it.
They really have varieties of everything from dim sim to stir fry. Everything is just okay, but I don't expect too much from a buffet. I go for the variety and it was overall pretty good. A good place for family if you don't want the hassel of choosing what to eat. -

Went here for dinner on 8/16/19. As soon as we were seated I noticed how dirty the place is and felt grossed out. I questioned my boyfriend about eating here and well we agreed to try it out worst mistake ever!!
Immediately after leaving that place and got home I felt sick to my stomach . A week later I'm still sick with diarrhea and stomachache and now having a bunch of labs done to determine what kind of intestinal infection I acquired from this place. Do not eat here unless you want to end up in a urgent care clinic. -

You know when you start off with one pleasant thought but then that thought suddenly turns into a worry and then that worry stems into a dozen random thoughts? By the end you're thinking, "how did my mind even get here?"
The rows of food here kind of reminded me of my thoughts. And the crawfish was kind of like that initial pleasant thought.
My favorite thing here was the crawfish. I think I would come back just for that. But for $18ish for lunch on a weekend, what you're coming for is quantity...definitely not quality.
Don't get me wrong. They have everything from your basics (fried rice, chow mein, broccoli beef, seafood veggies, etc) to slightly fancier things like crab legs (but with very little meat and cuts that seemed random) and sashimi with rice (not the freshest), but nothing made it seem like the $18ish price was justifiable besides the quantity and variety of food and...the crawfish.
There definitely were a lot of people here (in this really spacious restaurant) and a handful of birthday parties. And, I didn't get food poisoning, so that's a good sign.
If you're looking for a place to feed a party for a cheaper price, this is the place for you. But if you're looking for a place with high-quality food, this definitely isn't it. -

Food poisoning, stomach ache / diariah for 3 days.
If you planning on going somewhere far like a road trip, definitely don't even try to eat here.
Oyster has a really foul smell , sushi been sitting by the door the whole day and the Chinese food is very salty. -

My uncle recommended this place for a family dinner since buffets are easy. Upon turning into the restaurant, Hokkaido looks very rundown. They have a private lot so parking is plentiful. The inside is spacious and can definitely use a makeover. I believe they've got a banquet room for parties too.
Their large selection is pretty basic. You've got the sushi/sashimi, hot foods, fried foods, salads, soups, fruits, dessert and ice cream. Some of the hot foods were room temperature.
+1 star for the sashimi selection. Surprisingly, the tuna, salmon and albacore was pretty fresh. The cuts weren't very fishy at all. So I was pleasantly surprised. The sashimi was much better than the sushi rolls for sure.
+1 star for the presence of crab legs. Finding AYCE crab legs are hard so I was the most excited about the crab legs. Unfortunately, it was very underwhelming. I wasn't expecting high quality crab legs, but I was definitely picturing steaming hot ones coming out. The crab legs took a LONG time to come out and when they did, there was only enough for 2 full plates. So if you don't watch that station like a hawk, you'll miss it -.-
Service: Mediocre. The staff would occasionally come around and take away plates, but not often. So at times we would have plates piling up. Also, with a big group like ours, we were supposed to have free soft drinks, but many of us were unaware so we couldn't take advantage of that. I feel like they should have said something.
Overall, Hokkaido is just MEH. When you factor in how much it costs per person ($22/dinner), it is NOT worth at all. Money better spent at an AYCE KBBQ spot or The Juicy Crab.
